CLUB D’ÉCHECS AHUNTSIC and its partners are pleased to invite you to the 91st Montreal Championship since the very first one back in 1923.

What's new this year ?

  1. SECTION A – restricted to players with a minimal rating of 2000 (or with a Quebec rating index 21 or more) and FIDE, CFC and FQE-rated ;
  2. FREE BUFFET AND WINE served to all participants before the closing ceremony.

Participants from outside Montreal : where to stay ?

(1) A most convenient option - Apartment hotel Terrasse Royale 5225 Côte des Neiges, Montreal (www.terrasse-royale.com) within 15 minutes walking distance from the tournament hall offers you special discounted rates :
  • 105 $ + tx/night single or double occupancy (same price !) ; 10 $ + tx/night per additional person ; OR
  • 650 $ + tx /week (7 nights) single or double occupancy ; 25 $ + tx/week per addtional person.
  • Continental breakfast included. TV, air conditioned and Internet access in every room. Be sure to mention « chess tournament » when making your reservation.
(2) A most economical option – if you arrive in Montreal from the west, Motel Rideau 8700 Marie-Victorin Blvd. in Brossard (www.motelrideau.ca), on the south shore alongside the St-Lawrence river, offers you an unbeatable rate of 60 $ +tx/night, single or double occupancy. Through autoroute 15, you are 25 minutes away from the tournament hall by car. TV, air conditioned and Internet access included, but not the breakfast.
